Dietitians play an important role in a multi-disciplinary allied health team, as they can provide education, tailored plans and support on all aspects of diet and nutrition. Without a healthy and adequate diet focussed on the needs of the individual, often improvements and health management can be severely hindered. Whether it may be a reduction in weight, an increase in muscle mass or a plan helping to control conditions and illnesses such as diabetes, a managed and tracked dietary plan from a dietitian allows for a holistic approach to health for each client.
Frequency of sessions are dependent on the clinical need of the person but generally range from once per week to once a month. Dietitians can see several funding types including DVA, Medicare, NDIS and Private clients.
